INKTOBER 2019

Started by illustrator Jake Parker as a challenge to improve his inking skills and develop positive drawing habits, Inktober has since grown into a worldwide endeavor, with thousands of artists taking on the challenge every year. Every day for October, anyone participating in the Inktober challenge creates an ink drawing and posts it online.

2019 was the first time I underwent the challenge, and I am proud to have worked on it as long as I have. Even though I couldn't get through all 31 days and prompts, the challenge gave me an appreciation for traditional inking and a newfound illustrative process to utilize. Though Inktober has one-word daily prompts made by Parker to inspire, I instead drew suggestions from friends.
